I started with CHAMP Software over a year and a half ago. I came in to help my friends, Deb and Dave with some non-nursing tasks. When Dave asked me if I would put together some Clinical Pathways for them, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. After the pathways were finished last March, my job with CHAMP software was over. This past August, Dave rehired me as Implementation Coordinator. My first major task in this role was to put together training materials for our new software updates, TouchPoint

Pathways, TouchPoint ClickNotes, and TouchPoint PDA. My additional responsibilities include overseeing new software installations and the training involved..

I saw a need for standardized care plans twenty years ago when I first started in the field of nursing. In a discussion I had with a more experienced nurse, I came up with the idea to have pre-designed, diagnosis specific Care Plans ready for use. At that time, she showed me the care plan book sitting on the shelf in the nursing station. The problem was they were not available in an easily useable format and using them would entail more work, instead of less. It would have achieved my goal of a more standardized care, but I was almost equally concerned with expediting the process. One of the reasons I am so excited about our TouchPoint Pathways, TouchPoint ClickNotes and TouchPoint PDA is that I believe both these goals are met, with their use.
