Solutions Using Nightingale Notes

Solutions FAQs

We are closely monitoring the 2015 EHR requirements, and have made substantial progress on adding immunization screens and HL7 interface to the state registry. Within the next year or so we plan to add features for labs and communicable disease reporting, both with HL7 interface.

Nightingale Notes satisfies HIPAA requirements through:

  • Security: screens with lists of clients show only the names selected by the user
  • Security: two-tiered login using two separate screens
  • Security: several levels of both screen and program access restrictions based on “need to know”
  • Security: encryption in data transmission
  • Security: automatic logoff after 30 minutes of inactivity
  • EDI: electronic claims (Medicare and Medicaid) in ANSI X12N formats

Someone gets a great idea for how to help nurses serve clients better, or how to increase agency reimbursement, and then we work with our customers to make it happen. Also, customers often send enhancement requests for current screens and reports, and based on customer demand and technical feasibility, we do our best to incorporate their ideas.

Nightingale Notes is scalable from one user to many users, running in a web environment. We have agencies with 3 nurses and agencies with over 100 users.  We offer competitive pricing based on the number of users.

Nightingale Notes is a web application. This means all you need is a compatible web browser, like Firefox 3.x or greater, which is free to download, and a high speed internet connection. There is no installation and no server maintence for you to do - ever.

Absolutely! Nightingale Notes is a real-time application. You can chart while you are with a client whevever you have a high speed internet connection, or a cellular data connection.

Champ serves public health, community health, school-based clinics, and home health agencies. Our clients are diverse in purpose and size. Clients range from large county health departments with 50-100 nurses, to newly-started private duty home care agencies with 2-5 practitioners.

The best way to answer this is to let our current customers answer for us.

"Nightingale Notes is awesome! The nurses "Love It!" This is the first computer program they have done
besides Outlook. By the end of the first month I kept hearing how they love it. They are even pushing
now to get laptops so they can take them in the homes. The time savings and accuracy has already
started. I cannot think of anything that would even make me question doing this again."

Happiest User Ever!
Pam Stevenson
Acct. Tech., Becker County Community Health

"One of our favorite aspects of Nightingale Notes is the fact that we can access the software wherever there
is an internet connection. We love the ability to create custom tabs in NN - a feature we are already using
and plan to use even more in the future"

Nurses from Douglas County, MN

Bismarck Burleigh Public Health chose Champ because we were looking for an electronic health record which would fit our needs, programsi and work flow; we did not have to adjust our work process into an
offered structure. We wanted the program to be web based so it worked for all of our programs, including
home health and schools. Our staff wanted to get away from duplicate documentation for charting and
billing. We were also looking for a way to collect outcomes, including for community based programs,
and BBPH found the Omaha System and Nightingale Notes is able to meet all of these needs.”

Paula Flanders, Public Health Director for Bismarck-Burleigh
