Faster Charting and Greater Consistency
We introduced our new TouchPoint products and the
response has been very positive. TouchPoint
ClickNotes and TouchPoint PDA allow point and click
charting on desktop, laptop, and Personal Data
Assistant hardware. TouchPoint products make
charting faster and more efficient.
Many of our existing clients and some new ones are using TouchPoint. We have received very positive responses and some feedback for enhancements. We value the input of our customers and we are using your suggestions to further improve the software. Our goal is to make your job easier. TouchPoint products, especially the PDA, make working with patients on a more personal level easier by removing a lot of keystrokes during charting, and in the case of the PDA, remove the cumbersome laptop you may use now. TouchPoint ClickNotes replaces the current 30+ screens with 10 simple, practice-oriented screens. Pathways help pre-build your problem list and care plan, presenting standardized interventions that you mark as "done" by checking a box. It's the Omaha System, only in a slightly different package (and upgraded to the 2005 version). For home care, the OASIS assessment is combined with problems and vitals, plus it's linked to the 485. Doctor's orders, OASIS ratings, and interventions performed is more tightly integrated than before--producing greater consistency. |

And Where We're Going
We’ve been traveling to see you lately. Our
successful new software, TouchPoint ClickNotes, and
TouchPoint PDA brought David Rosebaugh, Rebecca
Bedore, Ben Fyvie, and Nicole Sowers to New Ulm, MN
for training with the staff from Cottonwood and
Jackson Counties. You'll learn more about
Rebecca later in this newsletter.
David, Rebecca, Ben, and David Smith, our salesperson, were also in St. Cloud conducting training on ClickNotes with a large group of our clients. Then in November, Rebecca traveled to Redwood Falls where she met with and trained clients on TouchPoint ClickNotes and TouchPoint PDA as well. It's important to us to limit your training costs, so we offer several training options. We will come to your site, or a site near you, you can visit us, or we can train you over the Internet using WebEx. For more information on training and customer support at CHAMP, please see check out our web site. Our next big adventure will be in the state of Washington for training with one of our newest clients, Kitsap County. It’s nice seeing new faces and we are always glad to see our existing customers. To all of you, thank you for your great response to TouchPoint. |

You Won't Get Locked Out of CHAMP Anymore
We know you didn't like that pesky password has
expired message you encountered every 90 days when
logging into CHAMP, so we've changed how it works.
Previously you had to have the system administrator
change your password for you. Now you can change it
yourself when you are prompted. This is a security
measure that protects you and your clients.
You will still be prompted to change your password every 90 days, and you will get a warning 10 working days before that date. Then you can change the password yourself and keep on working. |

15 Years of Nursing Experience
I started with CHAMP Software over a year and a half
ago. I came in to help my friends, Deb and Dave with
some non-nursing tasks. When Dave asked me if I
would put together some Clinical Pathways for them,
I didn’t hesitate to say yes. After the pathways
were finished last March, my job with CHAMP software
was over. This past August, Dave rehired me as
Implementation Coordinator. My first major task in
this role was to put together training materials for
our new software updates, TouchPoint Pathways,
TouchPoint ClickNotes, and TouchPoint PDA. My
additional responsibilities include overseeing new
software installations and the training involved.
I saw a need for standardized care plans twenty years ago when I first started in the field of nursing. In a discussion with a more experienced nurse, I came up with the idea to create pre-designed, diagnosis specific Care Plans ready for use. She showed me the care plan book sitting on the shelf in the nursing station. The problem was they were not available in an easily useable format and using them would entail more work, instead of less. It would have achieved my goal of a more standardized care, but I was almost equally concerned with expediting the process. One of the reasons I am so excited about our TouchPoint Pathways, ClickNotes and PDA products is that I believe both these goals are met, with their use. |
