BLACKBOARD VIRTUAL TRAINING ROOM INSTRUCTIONS

Please do the following at least 2-3 days before your first webinar:

1.      Check that all computers that will be used to access the Blackboard virtual training room have the required software. To do so, go to http://support.blackboardcollaborate.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=8336&task=knowledge&questionID=1473

2.      It will take a few minutes to load as it is trying to determine if you have the required software. It will even post a link for any software or software updates needed. You will need to restart your computer for any updates to take effect.

On the day of your webinar:

2.      When you get to the Blackboard Session Log-in page, enter your name (first name or first and last name) and click on Login.

3.      A window will pop up entitled “Opening dropin.jnlp,” asking you if you want to open the Java file. Click OK.

4.      A download box will open and the Java file will download (you don’t need to do anything).

5.      If a “Warning-Security” window pops up saying “The application’s digital signature cannot be verified. Do you want to run the application?,” go ahead and click on Run.

6.      A window showing the Blackboard modules being downloaded will pop up. Shortly afterward, the Blackboard virtual training room window will open in a new window. Welcome!

7.      The first time you enter an Blackboard room, it may ask you to run the Audio Setupi Wizard. This is NOT necessary if your training is being done via teleconference. Check with your implementation team leaders if your training is being done via teleconference or using microphones/headphones/speakers.

8.      If you are unable to enter the Blackboard training room, check with your IT department to make sure that your Adobe Flash plugin is current AND that your agency’s computer security settings allow downloading of Java files from unfamiliar websites.

9.      You or your implementation team leaders may call into the conference line  before or after entering the virtual training room. For a conference number, please contact a Champ trainer.

"Nightingale Notes is awesome! The nurses "Love It!" This is the first computer program they have done
besides Outlook. By the end of the first month I kept hearing how they love it. They are even pushing
now to get laptops so they can take them in the homes. The time savings and accuracy has already
started. I cannot think of anything that would even make me question doing this again."

"One of our favorite aspects of Nightingale Notes is the fact that we can access the software wherever there
is an internet connection. We love the ability to create custom tabs in NN - a feature we are already using
and plan to use even more in the future"

Nurses from Douglas County, MN

Bismarck Burleigh Public Health chose Champ because we were looking for an electronic health record which would fit our needs, programsi and work flow; we did not have to adjust our work process into an
offered structure. We wanted the program to be web based so it worked for all of our programs, including
home health and schools. Our staff wanted to get away from duplicate documentation for charting and
billing. We were also looking for a way to collect outcomes, including for community based programs,
and BBPH found the Omaha System and Nightingale Notes is able to meet all of these needs.”
