Darcy DuBois, MPH, Community Public Health Officer at Oak Creek Health Department and Erin Cronn, BSN, RN, Public Health Nurse at City of Cudahy Health Department share their story of using community collaboration to focus on addressing community health through a trauma-informed lens.

Through training first responders, at schools, in hospitals, and more, their communities have focused on how to support work in the community with citizens who’ve experienced trauma and also how community servants can deal with the trauma they experience on the job.

As part of their 5 year community improvement plan, trauma has come to the forefront as a focus; their efforts will have nearly 400 first responders trained by the end of the year. Join us to learn how addressing community health through a trauma-informed lens has shaped their work and community partnerships and the impact its having on their community.
