In 2007, after a successful career path working in mortgage lending, Erna decided to transition into the healthcare field. She completed her BA in Organizational Behavior in 2008, and went on to earn her Masters of Science in Health Information Management and Information Technology Leadership in 2012. She also earned her Registered Health Information Administrator though the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and maintains CEUs yearly.
Along the way, Erna advanced professionally working with electronic health record (EHR) support roles that included help desk support, auditing chart records, payer claims, technical specialist, revenue cycle management analyst, and technical analyst roles for a health insurance payer, health care organizations, public health, correctional health, and environmental health agencies. She gained strong troubleshooting skills workings with EHRs, enterprise systems, interfaces, and data integrity prompting Erna to go on and complete her second Masters of Science in Health Informatics in 2016.
Erna joined the Champ Software team because of employee longevity inspired by the company’s values and vision. She embraces the team’s synergy working to serve others in the public health careers.
A Minnesota native, Erna lives in Baxter, Minnesota with her husband of over 30 years, and golden retrievers enjoying the lakes area. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, crafting, and spending time with her family, two grandchildren and friends.
